The Bluff Park Art Show started as a way to raise money to expand the Bluff Park Elementary library and has grown into a nationally recognized and acclaimed art show. The show draws many visitors to Jefferson County each year. Artists from across the country submit their work months in advance hoping to be juried into the show. With an eclectic mix of media, the Bluff Park Art Show provides visitors with a fresh experience each year displayed in the picturesque setting of a heavily tree shaded park. We hope you will join us this year!

Take a trip back in time to rediscover the culture and contributions of Native Alabamians at Whispers From the Past – A Native American Experience.

This will be a great time to bring the family and enjoy a day discovering the culture and contributions of Native Alabamians. See Native American life take shape through demonstrations like flintknapping, pine needle basket weaving, and pow wow dancing, along with activities like leaf pounding, assembling dream catchers, bead weaving on looms, corn grinding, gourd crafting, fishing, and pottery. Children can try their hands at Stick Ball and other games.

Hear the sounds of drums and see the highlight of the day, performances by Native American Pow Wow dancers.

Authentic Native American items will be available for purchase like jewelry, bead work, foods, and crafts.

Admission at the gate will be $15 for visitors 18 and older, and $10 for seniors, veterans, and students. Children younger than 3 have are admitted free. Children’s and students' admission includes take-home crafts, while supplies last. All funds raised by this event will go to continuing education and programs. Aldridge Gardens is a 501-C3 organization.

Step up and Walk to honor and celebrate individuals with Down syndrome. Increase Awareness and raise funds for Down Syndrome Alabama's outreach and programs. Walk as an Individual - Couple - Family - Team. Fun for all ages with Full Moon Bar B Q, Doodles Ice Cream , Music, DJ, Dancing, Games, Hula Hoop, Facepainters and Crafts all on the beautiful grounds of Veterans Park Hoover. Set your tent up or find a place in one of the pavillions from 12:30-2pm. Join us for a brief ceremony from 2-2:30pm where we have fun performances, give out awards and name our champion award to Ascension Church. Walk with us around the loop of the lake and then CELEBRATE together from 3-5pm.
