HAY HOOVER TO BE HELD NEXT WEEKEND
Think pumpkins, hay rides and scarecrows. Add to that candy, face painting and loads of fun. Now you've got an idea of the excitement sure to be had by all at Hay Hoover! The free event will be held next Saturday, October 15th from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at Veteran's Park. It's taking the place of what used to be known as the Hoover Hay Ride.
"Hoover Hay Ride and Family Night was closer to Halloween. It was on a Friday evening, and had more of a Halloween feel. We are now moving it to Saturday, away from Halloween, for more of a fall festival Saturday during the day," says City of Hoover Events Manager, Kelly Peoples
Hay Hoover was her brainchild, an idea she presented shortly after taking over her new role.
"We'll have food, trucks, games all day, a petting zoo, pony rides, airbrush tattoos, a gaming truck, and soccer shots," Peoples describes.
'We'll still have dress up for the kids. It's like the trunk or treat, but under the tent where they can get candy and goodies from local businesses. So we'll still have all of that. Still have the hay ride. It'll just be during the day."
Peoples says they are still accepting vendors who would like to participate. They come in the form or local vendors who pass out individually wrapped candy or other goodies representing their business.
Spots for vendors are limited. If you'd like to register your business or learn more about how to participate, you contact peoples at: firstname.lastname@example.org
