HOOVER IS READY FOR WORLD GAMES SOFTBALL

The field has been sized. The grass has been mowed. The bases have been wiped clean. Now all the Hoover Met Stadium needs is players on the fields and fans in the stands.  And they'll be here soon enough.,

From July 9th - 13th, the Hoover Met will host The World Games 2022 softball competitions.  Eight teams will face off including: Australia, Canada, China, Italy, Mexico Chinese Taipei, Japan and the USA. 

There are two players on team USA from Alabama: Montana Fouts and Haylie McCleney. OLD GLORY MAKES ITS WAY THROUGH HOOVER

The Old Glory Relay made a successful run through Hoover Wednesday, July 6th, as it made its way to the City of Birmingham in time for The World Games  2022.  The flag, which once flew over the U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C., traveled through 15 states over 44 days to get to Alabama. In Hoover, representatives from the City of Tuscaloosa handed the flag over to Hoover Mayor Frank Brocato, who then ran the first leg of he 4-mile stint to Vestavia Hills City Hall. The flag ultimately made its way to Protective Stadium in Birmingham where it was raised during the opening ceremonies of The World Games Thursday night. HOOVER RESTAURANT WEEK RETURNS IN TIME FOR WORLD GAMES

The world is coming to Hoover to see softball. But while visitors are here, they'll be able to find the tastes of home. The 3rd Annual Hoover Restaurant Week runs July 7-17. Those dates were chosen to coincide with The World Games 2022.  David Cohen, who is the chairman of the Hoover Restaurant Alliance, says nearly 40 restaurants are participating in the event.
